Centered on the theme "All Advancing, All Renewed", this release delivers four major innovations, implements over 1000 optimizations and fixes, offering developers and users a more reliable, smoother, and freer open-source operating system experience.

I. DDE 7.0: Reimagined Interface，Unmatched Fluency

We believe every click and every swipe should be a pleasure. The all-new DDE Desktop Environment, crafted pixel by pixel, redefines the boundaries of aesthetics and efficiency for you.

  • Visible Elegance, Invisible Dedication: We've rebuilt numerous desktop components using QML. This not only delivers a visibly smoother experience but also achieves comprehensive visual language unification. From skeuomorphic icons to smooth, jade-like rounded corners, every detail has been meticulously refined, giving the system interface a greater sense of breathing room and warmth.
  • Farewell to Complexity: The "Revolutionary" Evolution of Control Center: The Control Center introduces a new layered structure with "sidebar + content area". Navigation is clear on the left, settings are intuitive and convenient on the right – everything you need is at your fingertips, eliminating the need for jumping through layers for common tasks.
  • The Organizing Launcher & File Manager: To help you find what you need faster, the Launcher now supports sorting applications alphabetically by their first letter. The File Manager also sees a major upgrade to its search function, supporting "search-as-you-type" and keyword highlighting, letting you pinpoint files in vast collections.
  • More Freedom to Define Interaction: For laptop users, we've added the ability to customize three-finger and four-finger touchpad gestures. Actions like splitting screens or switching windows can be set to your preference, truly turning your touchpad into an efficiency tool.

In deepin 25, AI is no longer a distant feature; it's an intelligent companion integrated into the system, always attuned to your needs.

  • UOS AI FollowAlong: Knowledge at Hand: While reading on any screen, simply select text with a swipe, and the AI icon instantly appears. Translate, summarize, or explain with one click. It even works offline, removing barriers to knowledge acquisition and keeping your focus uninterrupted.
  • Speak, Don't Click: The System Listens: Want to dim the screen or quickly create a meeting? Try giving the system commands using natural language! Whether spoken or typed, the system understands, freeing you from tedious menu clicks.
  • Dual-Mode Engine: Balancing Safety and Power: Choose to connect to mainstream online large models like DeepSeek, Baidu Qianfan, or iFlytek Spark to harness cloud computing power. Alternatively, install and use the "UnionTech YouRong Large Model" from settings for offline operation, keeping your data local and safeguarding your privacy.
  • Agent Store: Infinite Capability Expansion: Through the new Agent Store entry in the AI Assistant, you can download agents for different fields, expanding AI's application scenarios and making your AI more personalized.

We deeply understand the importance of system stability for users. To this end, deepin 25 proudly introduces "Solid" (deepin Immutable System), redefining the benchmark for stability in Linux operating systems.

  • Read-Only Protection, Preventing Core Tampering: By forcibly mounting core directories like /usr/bin as read-only, the system fundamentally blocks accidental user actions or malware from modifying the system core, ensuring long-term stable operation. For developers needing deep customization, we also provide a convenient command to toggle protection on/off instantly.
  • Second-Level Snapshots: Upgrade Without Worry: Before every system update, the system automatically creates a backup snapshot. Even if something unexpected happens during the update, the system can automatically roll back to the last known good state upon reboot, eliminating "update-bricking" anxiety.
  • Worry-Free Restore: The "Self-Cleaning" Engine for Public Devices: Designed for scenarios like public computers and exhibition devices, "Worry-Free Restore" automatically clears usage traces upon reboot, while also supporting whitelist configurations to balance security and efficiency.

  • Treeland Window Compositor (Preview/Exploration): Our self-developed rendering engine brings a 40% improvement in animation smoothness and supports multi-finger touchpad gesture tracking, enabling interactions as smooth as silk. Geeks are welcome to switch and experience the future of desktop interaction.
  • Cross-Device Collaboration: Breaking Device Boundaries: Beyond keyboard/mouse and clipboard sharing between PCs, the new Cross-Device Collaboration achieves breakthrough two-way control between phones and PCs. Reply to phone messages or operate phone apps on your computer's large screen, building a seamless, integrated workflow.
  • Mainstream Architecture Support: Building on stable AMD64 support, we've added ARM64 / LoongArch64 / RISC-V architecture support, covering mainstream chip platforms. Adaptations include devices like Raspberry Pi 4B+, Radxa Rock5B/5B+, and ROCK 5 ITX motherboards, expanding applications in embedded and lightweight computing.
