deepin 25 Continues to Improve: Tackling Key User Pain Points

In July, the team launched multiple rounds of targeted updates based on community feedback, significantly improving system stability and user experience:
  • System-level fixes: Released the 25.0.1 update image, resolving issues such as boot-time black screens, missing sound cards, and kernel upgrade failures—ensuring reliability for new installations.
  • Application experience optimizations: Rebuilt the multi-file history logic in the Text Editor, fixed playback and translation issues in the Movie app, and addressed problems in the Linyaps ecosystem such as duplicated menu entries and build errors.
  • Security enhancements: Resolved issues such as the recurring keyring pop-up and patched multiple security vulnerabilities to strengthen system protection.

 

UOS AI Evolves Further: The MCP Ecosystem Takes Shape

UOS AI 2.9 breaks new ground by leveraging the open MCP ecosystem to enable complex tasks via simple natural language commands. Users can now integrate third-party tools and control both the system and applications effortlessly.
Examples include:
  • “Calculate product sales from the desktop order table and generate a bar chart” → Automatically outputs an analysis report
  • “Download 3 AI papers and summarize them” → Creates a structured research document
  • “Plan the fastest high-speed rail route from Beijing to Tianjin” → Outputs train schedule and navigation plan

deepin Home

In July, deepin Home and the Forum received 141 user reports and suggestions:
  • 72 bug reports: 28 resolved, 16 under replication
  • 69 feature requests: 3 completed, 25 accepted into planning

III. Community SIGs (Special Interest Groups)

deepin-kernel SIG:

  • Integrated upstream patches into kernel versions 6.6.100 and 6.12.40
  • Enabled ashmem on both x86 and ARM64 for 6.6 kernel
  • Improved RISC-V amdgpu support
  • Integrated patches from SW, Phytium, and Hygon to enhance support for their respective architectures
  • Performance and stability enhancements (e.g., pipe locking, UDP, SLAB_NO_MERGE memory optimization)
  • Added driver support for Huari D3100s SAS/SATA RAID cards and MT7925 wireless cards
  • Adjusted x86 build configs to prevent non-root users from accessing kernel logs
  • Enabled WireGuard on ARM64

 

deepin-sysdev-team:

  • Merged SW64 architecture toolchain patches into mainline
  • Updated key packages: usb.ids, dh-builtusing, apache2, git-buildpackage, box64, sqlite3, etc.
  • Addressed CVE vulnerabilities

 

DDE SIG:

  • Improved dde-shell stability to prevent taskbar crashes
  • Fixed issues with taskbar icon pinning and duplication
  • Enhanced notification center UI and added better icon handling
  • Enabled theme-aware right-click menus in full-screen launcher
  • Introduced F1 shortcut for Launcher Help
  • Refined support for Wine app uninstallation
  • Fixed time zone UI, audio feedback, and Bluetooth sorting issues in Control Center

 

dde-port SIG:

  • Updated porting guide for DDE 7.0
  • Provided portability fixes for Arch Linux and openSUSE (including Qt compatibility)
  • Updated PKGBUILD scripts for -git versions of DDE 7.0 components

 

deepin-ports SIG:

  • Added HWE repository to rv image for newer GPU drivers and GCC
  • Packaged LLVM 20 and Mesa 25 for improved driver support
  • Enabled box32 support in box64 for better app compatibility
  • Updated kernel in eic7700 image to 6.6.88 (upstream RockOS)
  • Packaged felix86 to explore Steam/game support on RISC-V
  • Added dp1000 support to generic ISO with updated glibc and kernel
  • Integrated PRs for PCIe Bar adjustments from third-party contributors
  • Fixed bootloader issues on K1 and updated support for new SBCs

 

deepin-translation SIG:

  • Reported and fixed translation gaps
  • Removed unnecessary language resources in Control Center
  • Updated translations for Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German, Arabic, Ukrainian, and French
  • Added helper features in deepin-translation-utils to streamline config generation and avoid missing resources

 

IV. Community Ecosystem

  • Over 700 apps reviewed and tested in July
  • 440 apps successfully published, including 238 new entries across games, utilities, AI, and more
  • Linyaps-native apps updated and released in the Store
  • Major apps like Feishu and QQ received version updates
  • Ongoing refinement of app compatibility for deepin 23 and 25
  • 18 community developers contributed to adapting 64 apps
  • Total of 405 apps maintained by the Ecosystem Collaboration Team in 2025

V. International Community

deepin Japan: Our 10th International Sub-community Officially Launched!

deepin’s global outreach continues with the launch of its 10th international branch—deepin Japan—marking another milestone in our expansion across Asia and bringing deepin to more users in the region.

Global Collaboration for Better Linyaps Download Experience

To support the international rollout of Linyaps, the deepin Spanish community has voluntarily provided server resources. After more than a month of development and testing, the team has successfully implemented a new traffic distribution solution—significantly improving download speeds for overseas users and enhancing the overall experience.
