1. deepin 25 Officially Released

In June, the highly anticipated official release of deepin 25 made its dazzling debut! Centered around the core concept of "Innovation for All," this release deeply integrates numerous innovative features, delivering a new operating system experience that is reliable, smooth, and free.

The brand-new DDE desktop environment achieves visual consistency and silky-smooth interactions through QML refactoring. The Control Center adopts an intuitive "sidebar + content area" layout, significantly improving operational efficiency. The Launcher now supports alphabetical sorting of applications. The File Manager enhances "type-to-search" functionality with keyword highlighting and adds customizable multi-touch gesture support for notebook users.

UOS AI is deeply integrated into the system, supporting instant translation/summarization of selected text and natural language commands for system settings. It innovatively employs a dual-engine architecture (offline local model + online large model), expanding intelligent capabilities while ensuring privacy and security.

The Solid System Protection sets a new benchmark for system stability by mounting core directories as read-only, creating automatic second-level snapshots before updates, and providing a worry-free rollback mechanism.

The Linyaps Package Management utilizes containerized sandbox technology to enable applications to run compatibly across 7 major mainstream distributions (Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, etc.). It fully supports AMD64/ARM64/LoongArch64/RISC-V architectures, with the application ecosystem surpassing 5,000 titles.

This release cumulatively implements over 1,000 optimizations and fixes, significantly enhancing system fluidity and robustness.

2、UOS AI Capability Expansion: Intelligent Agent Ecosystem Takes Shape

The exclusive UOS AI module in deepin 25 received further functional enhancements at the end of the month, focusing on scenario-based intelligent services.

Three new vertical domain intelligent agents were added:

  • Writing Assistant: Generates various styles of content based on a theme.

  • Translation Assistant: Supports accurate multilingual translation.

  • Text Processing Tool: Provides practical functions like summarization, error correction, and rewriting.

AI Sidebar (Sidebar tool) strengthened its multilingual support, covering 15 languages for instant switching. It also opened a custom skill management entry, allowing users to add and prioritize frequently used functions as needed.

For efficiency, a Quick Access to AI Settings was added to the system. Users can now jump directly to the configuration page via a dropdown menu, further streamlining the operation path.

In June, deepin Home received a total of 224 user bug reports and feature requests, comprising:

65 feature requests: 12 completed, 5 accepted, 14 routed/replied to.

 

III. Community SIGs (Special Interest Groups)

deepin-kernel SIG:

  • 6.6 Kernel:

    • Added configurable enablement for Hygon TDM protection module to prevent PSP firmware loss during kernel initialization; fixed data-copying logic to eliminate TDM driver warnings.

    • Introduced UOS-STE memory watermark feature (previously closed-source, now open-sourced in deepin kernel).

    • Backported upstream commit to simplify erofs_read_inode code structure.

    • Backported upstream commit to extend TCP IPv6 support.

    • Fixed compilation error for Linkdata RAID card driver on big-endian CPUs.

    • Updated version number for Huawei hnic3 NIC driver.

    • Backported upstream commit: Intel In-Field Scan (IFS) SBAF support backported to GNR platform.

    • Backported upstream commit: New KFENCE object state introduced to capture/free stack traces for RCU-safe caches at kmem_cache_free instead of during delayed RCU callbacks.

    • Backported upstream commit: Fixed trace self-test failure to dynamically detect and attach to correct directory creation functions.

    • Added new PCI device IDs for ZonedStorage RAID card driver and userspace mmap interface for firmware log retrieval.

    • Updated kernel minor version to 6.6.95.

    • Backported pipe performance optimizations from mainline v6.7.

    • Backported upstream commit to simplify wakeup process code paths.

    • Disabled uselib kernel config option on LoongArch for performance improvement.

    • Added support for Huarui TrustRAID D3100s controller driver.

    • Enabled support for MT7920 NIC.

  • 6.12 Kernel:

    • Exported additional kernel functions to support drivers for Android emulators (e.g., KMRE).

    • Updated kernel minor version to 6.12.35.

deepin-sysdev-team:

  • New packages: vkroots, eiskaltdcpp, gamescope, pikopixel, libicns, gnustep-back, gnustep-gui, cruft-ng, systemd-cron, sirikali, etc.

  • Updates:

    • bash-completion: Added bash-pinyin-completion for Pinyin-based command completion.

    • usb.ids/pci.ids: Expanded device support.

    • xerces-c XML parser library upgraded.

    • Multiple packages updated: tightvnc, rime-wanxiang, allegro5, boxed-cpp, contour, dwarves, git-lfs, gnustep-back, imgui, isa-support, libdumb, libicns, libunicode, ms-gsl, netavark, openscenegraph, podman, reflection-cpp, scribus, stress-ng, etc.

  • Security: Addressed CVE vulnerabilities.

DDE SIG:

  • Taskbar: Added lock feature to prevent accidental dragging; added corresponding setting in Control Center.

  • Launcher: Refined fuzzy search for improved matching accuracy.

  • Control Center: Multiple UI fine-tunings and interaction behavior optimizations.

  • Bug fixes across DDE components:

    • Fixed translation loading failures for regional languages in Control Center and dde-shell.

    • Resolved empty source text issues in dde-network-core translation resources.

    • Addressed SOVERSION conflicts that could cause breaking updates.

    • Standardized version number formats.

    • Optimized launcher search rules.

  • Integrated community-contributed translations.

  • DDE 7.0 officially released with deepin 25.

  • High-priority defect fixes.

dde-port SIG:

  • Released porting guide for DDE 7.0.

  • Provided fixes for portability issues on Arch Linux/openSUSE for dde-control-center, dde-shell, dde-daemon, etc.

  • Updated Arch Linux PKGBUILD files for building deepin 25 DDE 7.0 components (-git versions).

deepin-ports SIG:

  • u-boot: Added U_BOOT_SYNC_DTBS option to auto-copy device tree files.

  • Image building:

    • Experimental GRUB-based image support for preview releases on UEFI devices (pre-mainline kernel/driver support).

    • Added support for efi/boot/root triple-partition images.

    • Switched to apt post-mmdebstrap for dependency-safe component installation.

  • Device support:

    • Added dp1000 support.

    • Released test images for: k1, generic, dp1000.

  • Installer fixes: Corrected partition setup for RISC-V full-disk installation.

  • Release: Launched RISC-V ISO for deepin 25 (Rock-Solid) – available via Image Download.

  • Upgrade path: Systems running any pre-release deepin 25 can upgrade via apt.

  • Documentation:

deepin-translation SIG:

  • Reported missing UI translations.

  • Fixed translation loading errors and missing translations across system components.

  • Updated translations for: Spanish, Japanese, Italian, German, Arabic, Ukrainian.

 

IV. Community Ecosystem

The App Store completed over 700 application review tests, successfully facilitating the launch of 422 applications. Among these, 368 were brand-new applications covering diverse fields such as games, tools, AI, and more. The deepin 25 Store also added listings for Ubuntu 24.04 and Fedora 42 subsystems, providing developer users with a wider choice of operating system environments. Additionally, multiple leading applications, including Feishu and QQ, underwent version iterations to continuously optimize the user experience.

The Ecosystem Collaboration Team steadily advanced application adaptation efforts. 11 community developers actively participated in ecosystem building, completing adaptation optimizations for 53 applications. Since 2025, a total of 341 applications have been maintained by community developers. We sincerely invite more partners to submit high-quality applications through the deepin community, working together to build an open and diverse community application ecosystem.

 

V. deepin Forum

In June, the deepin Forum saw the publication of 1,061 new threads and 8,552 replies. 570 new members joined the deepin Forum community.
