deepin 25.2.1 Update: Intelligent Semantic Search Launched · Multiple High-Frequency Issues Fixed

In August, deepin 25.2.1 was released(official push on August 3, emergency update on August 10). The biggest highlight is the introduction of intelligent semantic search: the file manager and global search now support natural language queries (e.g., "financial spreadsheets modified yesterday," "videos larger than 1 GB") combined with filters such as time, type, location, and size to quickly locate local files.

At the same time, optimizations were made to the file management and search pipeline, DDE desktop experience, and commonly used applications. The Linglong runtime environment was updated to version 1.13.8, and fixes were applied to the Panshi system, peripheral compatibility, and multiple security vulnerabilities. The emergency update on August 10 focused on fixing issues such as update failures, printing failures, and the inability to empty the recycle bin.

XiaoU Assistant 3.2.0: MCP Integration · Task Creation via Conversation · Workspace Goes Live

In August, XiaoU Assistant released version 3.2.0, with upgrades centered around "fewer interface switches, fewer cumbersome settings, and less context confusion":

  • MCP capabilities are integrated into global conversation auto-scheduling;
  • Supports creating one‑time or recurring reminder tasks directly via natural language;
  • A new workspace enables grouped management of conversations for different projects without interference, with one‑click pinning for frequently used workspaces.

UnionTech Windows Compatibility Engine V4.0: Account Sync + Python‑Free Refactoring

The UnionTech Windows Application Compatibility Engine received a major version update. The brand‑new V4.0.0 is now available on the deepin App Store: it adds deepin ID login and data synchronization, achieving "login once, sync everywhere"; previously Python‑dependent features have been rewritten in C++ to completely eliminate issues where accidental Python environment changes would prevent installation or startup; one‑click submission of applications and feature requests is also supported.

deepin PC Manager Officially Launched: One‑Click System Security Protection

On August 21, deepin's system security and maintenance tool "PC Manager" officially went live on the App Store, combining detection, optimization, and repair:

  • One‑click health check of system, hardware, network, and storage status;
  • System "slimming" through space cleaning, duplicate file cleanup (via MD5 comparison), large file cleanup, and startup item management;
  • Four categories with 10 specialized repair tools offering visual "one‑click fixes" for common issues. Designed with minimal privilege principles, the interface operates under normal user permissions, ensuring security and compliance.

Deepin Home & Forums

In August, a total of 145 bug reports and feature requests were recorded through Deepin Home, forums, and other channels, including:

  • 102 bug reports: 12 resolved, 33 replied, 8 under reproduction, 39 pending;
  • 43 feature requests: 15 added to the feature pool, 4 completed, 7 replied, 15 pending.

Kernel Version Updates

  • Updated minor versions 6.18.39–6.18.48 with 3,255 patches, and 6.6.147–6.6.155 with 1,131 patches.

Hardware Support Enhancements

  • Fixed an issue where, after merging the new MediaTek wireless driver (MT7902 wireless NIC), random MAC addresses caused failure to auto‑connect after reboot;
  • On the 6.6 kernel branch, merged Realtek wired NIC drivers from the upstream 6.18 LTS branch (115 patches), adding support for Realtek 10‑Gigabit NICs;
  • On the 6.6 branch, updated LoongArch virtualization patch set with 118 patches, and merged LoongArch optimizations for Wangxun NICs, RAID cards, Yutai NICs, megaraid cards, and graphics card support;
  • Updated KAPI on both 6.6 and 6.18 branches to accommodate minor version changes for LoongArch integrated GPU dkms compatibility;
  • Merged patches on the 6.6 branch to fix minor issues with Phytium and other driver modules.

Stability and Performance Optimizations

  • Fixed issues on both 6.6 and 6.18 branches where some kernel modules running on LoongArch could corrupt kernel runtime data or crash when fully preemptive scheduling was enabled;
  • Reverted out‑of‑tree BORE scheduler support on the 6.18.48 branch to avoid risks from minor version updates;
  • Merged upstream maple_tree patches on the 6.6 branch to optimize underlying data structure performance, and evdev patches to slightly speed up shutdown;
  • Fixed an issue on the 6.18 branch where LoongArch hibernation required adding nokaslr, otherwise the system failed to boot after resume;
  • Continuously tracking, analyzing, and resolving issues reported by community users.

Upstream Version Updates: 44 repositories completed version releases in August

  • Core desktop libraries: glib2.0, qt6-base, systemd, pipewire, cups, etc.;
  • Networking and security: openvpn, rsyslog, podman, bluez, etc.;
  • Multimedia and graphics: full gstreamer series, xorg-server, xwayland, wayland 1.26.0, etc.;
  • Development tools: binutils, llvm-toolchain, glibc, rustc-1.95, etc.;
  • Container and virtualization: qemu, dracut, etc.;
  • LoongArch/Shenwei architecture support: libksba, libgpg-error added loong64, libunwind restored sw64.

Major Feature Updates

  • systemd released 17 minor versions (51–67) consecutively in August;
  • qemu added support for Hygon 4th‑generation CPUs; wayland 1.26.0, libdrm, pixman, and other graphics base stacks were batch‑upgraded.

  • dde-tray-loader released v2.0.39, fixing issues where the right‑click menu for SNI tray icons (e.g., Snipaste) would not display properly.

Launcher

  • dde-launchpad released v2.0.46, reusing the AppStream metadata pool to reduce launch latency, and unified application data sources migrated to the shared application model of dde-shell.

Control Center

  • dde-control-center released v6.1.105, improving shortcut key experience and Pinyin search, and fixing NumLock state synchronization issues.

Backend Services

  • dde-daemon released v6.1.104, with a focus on security hardening this month – integrating deepin-security-loader, adding whitelist authentication for sensitive interfaces such as flight mode, touchpad, and power, and introducing polkit privilege escalation fallback.

RVA23 Repository Construction

  • Packaged GCC 16 toolchain with RVA23 support enabled;
  • GCC 15 and binutils with SpacemiT IME extensions have been pushed to the next repository;
  • Upgraded mesa to 25.1.6.

Key Device Adaptations

  • Released a new mainline ARM ISO for Phytium Pi Pro (disk requirement reduced to 28 GB);
  • Began adapting for the Loongson 2K3000 development board; updated Qualcomm qcom images in preparation for Radxa Q8B.

Images and Tools

  • Advanced cross‑platform image download, assembly, and writing tools;
  • Fixed kernel build failures for some CI jobs in deepin-ports-kernel.

IV. Community Ecosystem

The App Store recently completed nearly 504 application review and testing cycles, facilitating the listing of 423 applications, of which 251 are brand‑new. Multiple mainstream office software have received iterative updates: WPS Office made several experience optimizations, with pivot tables now supporting automatic grouping by date fields; the printing module received multiple improvements and enhanced troubleshooting capabilities, while system disk usage was also addressed. Chrome‑Google Chrome now supports ARM64 architecture, and applications such as Feishu, notepad‑‑, Firefox, and many others have been updated simultaneously.

On the Linglong front, the Linglong version of DeepSeek Harness is newly listed; popular downloads such as QGIS, uTools‑plugin applications, Chromium browser, and Firefox have all received version updates.

The Ecosystem Building Group steadily advances application adaptation efforts, with a total of 44 group developers actively participating in ecosystem development. They have maintained a total of 103 applications in various forms, including 83 deb open‑source applications and 20 Linglong applications.
